I think “passion” is what drives people to create art.
It’s the urge to make something, just because it feels right and it’s in you to do. It’s both thrilling and rewarding. That’s what I want to do. That’s what I want to help others discover they can do too.
Lynn began making jewelry in the late ’70s, but left it to pursue a career in journalism and another small business (Swarm Interactive). She’s back!
Lynn graduated from Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA in 1978 with a BFA in Fine Art and Design. During her time at Swain, she worked for a local jeweler and the seed was planted.
After moving to NYC in 1978, Lynn worked for various book publishers in designing covers and producing books. In 1982, Lynn started working for The Associated Press which began a 25 year career in graphics journalism. Other news outlets included South Florida's Sun-Sentinel and the Miami Herald.
While still working in journalism, Lynn established Swarm Interactive, Inc. in 1998, with two partners, which they still own.
In 2011, Lynn went back to making jewelry as a hobby. She learned fast. Finally, in 2015, she, and her partner Terry Juliano, built a studio on their property in Hillsborough, NC, where Lynn teaches a jewelry fundamentals workshop, as well as other classes.
Lynn welcomes instructors in all facets of the art jewelry making industry to come and share their knowledge and skills to those interested in creating fine art jewelry.
