As time permits, the following techniques covered may include: fabrication, annealing silver, silver soldering, forming, ring press forming, foldforming, working with textured sheets, combining metals, proper earring construction for comfort, red and other patinas, and enameling.
Students will complete finished jewelry to wear.
Janet has been making jewelry and winning awards for over 40 years and has taught a variety of workshops. Her background is in fine arts, sculpture and painting. She first studied foldforming on a work scholarship at the Penland School of Crafts in the 70's with Elliot Pujol. Janet later added to her self-taught jewelry skills with additional scholarships at Penland. She continues to attend workshops and experiment with new techniques.
